Converting Units Using Tables and Proportions

Watch this video as many times as you need. WSQ in your notebooks.

W = Work out any problems assigned during the video in your notes.
S = Summarize the video.  This can be done using bullets.  List at least 3 things you learned from this video or important things to remember about this lesson.
Q = Question you have or a question someone else might have about the information in the video. This can also be a question that sparks discussion or causes other to think about the topic more deeply.

*Please excuse the glitch with the pen about 3/4 of the way through the video.*

Summary:
1.  Explain how to set up a table to convert units.
2. How do you use a table to convert units?
3. Explain how to set up a proportion to convert units.
4. Describe 2 ways to use a proportion to convert units.

Work:  I apologize for the poor font on the last two problems.  Please see the problems below:

1. Carlos ran a 12 mile race.  How many kilometers did he run?  1 kilometer = 0.6 miles.

2. Some scientists recommend that you drink 8 cups of water each day.  How many ounces of water is this?  1 cup = 8 oz.
